Thoughts on Learning

I pulled this from one of my old notebooks. I don’t know if it was something I composed, or whether it was copied from another’s work.

Teaching is not hte pummelling of knowledge into the unwilling vessel fo the student’s psyche; it is the presentation of a learned perspective, or at least a reasoning perspective, to the senses of the student.

Learning is the responsibility of the Student.

There is nothing so ignorant as the closed mind,
but there is nothing so repugnant as an open mind guarded by the cerberus of arrogance.

Here’s another astute reader! WOW, I’m actually compared to DeMille! I think I’d swoon if I knew how . . .

Thanks Wes!

Really cool to know others find interest in what I have to say. Bragging Rites featured the authors of Return of the Sword yesterday. It was quite a party! Thanks, Lea!

What Feeds US — Poems by Diane Lockward

What Feeds US — Poems by Diane Lockward

Check out the news on friend Diane’s inclusions in Rattle!

Congratulations, Diane!

Buy her book. It’s worth twice the cover price. Heart-felt, therapeutic, soul-touching, spiced throughout with humor and poignant with irony. I give it four stars only because I loved her Eve’s Red Dress even more and give it five. Check out both; I highly recommend them.
