today I wonder about this — as with
everything: I wonder — what real purpose
is there in wonder or curiosity
if there be no god, no soul, but merely
genetic progressions evolved over
billennia since the bang, since singu-
larity went plural in a new paradigm
vogue of physical reality . . . know,
know. know? what does it mean to know? what truth
but a construct of chemical impulse
serving its own organic need — sometimes
seemingly altruistic in support
of others, and yet always with payoff . . .
perhaps it’s all evolving into God at last.

After the Vows: Poems Between Lovers
David, this is stunning. A profound statement about the nature of the human…and your beautiful heart.
Thank you, Alicia. It’s one of the running threads in my poetry and intellectual life. It’s a reflective, argent tone in the pattern of my mind.
Have a super weekend!
