Her Intuition

she had a premonition, she says. it
was a vision of you in my arms, she
says.     blissful in the moonlight riverside
after a picnic feast and a soft rain—
was it summer or autumn,     I’m never
sure,     but the sweet rain brings shivers of bliss
as we roll in kentuckyblue grass, cool
under breezes   .   .   .   when I question her, she
admits that it was her plan to seduce;
still, she swears before ever we met, these
visions sought her out,     spirits sang sweet songs
praising your virtues to me and leading
me down this road to the destiny we
shall share moving forward, we together.
